Pourquoi « danzaq » ?

Un peu d'histoire...

Le terme « danzaq » constitue une forme hybride issue du contact colonial entre l’espagnol et le quechua.

Il ne s’agit pas d’un mot quechua ‘pur’, mais d’une construction linguistique qui témoigne des processus historiques de transformation culturelle dans les Andes.

Dans le langage andin, notamment à Ayacucho au Pérou, le terme « danzaq » désigne le danseur, en particulier celui qui pratique la danse des ciseaux. En d’autres termes, « danzaq » = danseur ou danseur rituel.
